This is me

I am a mother of 2 busy kids, a military spouse, and a career-driven individual. I grew up in South Louisiana, and in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina ravaged the region, I had the opportunity to explore life in another area.

Since then, I have also lived in Washington, DC., Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, and Massachusetts. While continuing my studies, I have also been able to gain real-life skills in other industries, such as accounting, sales, fundraising, customer service, and many others.

I love to create things, travel (if there’s a beach, I’m there), and just lounge around.

Professional Identity

I am licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC #13412) and the state of Maryland as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LC16427). I am also a registered telehealth provider in the state of Florida (TPMC4762). I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a graduate certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Prior to that, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.

I am a board-certified counselor who has voluntarily met high national standards for the general practice of counseling. My certification designation, issued by the National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. (NBCC), is the National Certified Counselor (NCC). This classification is the premier voluntary national certification for professional counselors, which signifies that your counselor has met rigorous national standards for education, examination, experience, and ethical conduct.

I am EMDRIA trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). With this, along with my specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and the Collaborative Assessment & Management of Suicidality (CAMS), I can address trauma and suicidal ideation in a supportive and intensive manner without escalating to a higher level of care immediately.

Before private practice, I worked in community agencies serving mostly children and teens who were part of failing school systems, disrupted family systems, foster care systems, juvenile justice or the adult justice system. Some of my clients have also struggled with self-harm, their internal will to live, and substance misuse. As an evaluation specialist, I gained experience in conducting enhanced assessments, leading to recommendations to assist clients with various concerns.

I’m a clinician who brings both professional training and real-world understanding into the therapy room. Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and collaborative.

I believe people do best when they feel understood, respected, and actively involved in their own care. Therapy should feel like a working relationship — not something being done to you.
